Does the program create and print paystubs ... ?

  • Yes, the Payroll program automatically creates and prints a paystub for each employee when checks are printed.
  • No additional entry or setup is required by the employee entering payroll data for this to occur beyond the normal payroll setup.
  • What is printed on the paystub?
    • Top of stub: Company Name, Employee ID, Employee Lastname, First name, SSN, Check Control Number
    • In columnnar format
      • If details exceed the height of any column, details will print on the next stub for the employee.
      • Details printed are not condensed for different earnings and or deduction / withholdngs. Each Earning or Deduction / Withholding definition will be printed with a summarized total in the appropriated column.

What is Certified Payroll ... ?

  • Certified Payroll Reports are required on most Goverment construction projects. The contractor provides Certified Payroll Reports for specified periods to the goverment agency responsible for the project.
  • Hours are entered into the AccountPro Payroll module and the report printed from the AccountPro Certified Payroll module.

What is an Employee ID? ... ?

  • An Employee ID is used to identify the employee's name. An employee id may consist of numbers and or letters (alphanumeric). For example,
    • AJC is an employee id.
    • 10553 is an employee id.
    • A-101 is an employee id.
    • 1015-AM is an employee id.
    • 101-200-34 is an employee id.
  • An Employee ID may have up to 8 alphanumeric characters.
  • Using an Employee ID in AccountPro modules make for quicker entry and or section of employees and is less prone to data entry errors.

What is an Earning Definition (Earning ID) ... ?

  1. An earning definition defines, for example, details such as, Regular Earnings, Overtime Earnings, Bonus, Commission, Mileage, Living out Allowance, Piece Work, etc.
  2. An unlimited number of earning definitions may be defined. Earning types may be defined, for example, as Regular Earrings, Overtime Earnings, Bonus, Commission, Mileage, Living out Allowance, Piece Work, etc.
  3. Overtime may be calculated at 1 1/2 time, 2 times regular Earnings, or whatever multiplyer is required. You may predefine as many overtime definitions (IDs) as needed.
  4. Earning definitions may be specified with respect to taxability, active status, contribute to statutory deductions, contribute to calculation of "Other Deductions", such as, for example, Union Dues, all through user specified Yes/No options.
  5. Indicate whether or not the earnings contribute to Vacation Pay, Holiday Pay, Sick Pay, etc.
  6. By establishing any number of earnings definitions and assigning an earnings definition (ID) to an employee as a default earnings id, the person entering payroll does not have to be concerned about any of the details of rates, or if the earning contributes to the calculation of witholdings, etc.
  7. Furthermore - the earnign definition details onle has to establised once and can be assigned to any employee, or - selected in the payroll entry (transactions) menu, thereby overriding any defaults established for the employee.
  8. Earning definitions (IDs) come in very handy when and employee does various tasks withing a pay period and therefor is subject to different rates and or subject to different criteria for withholdings.

  • Deduction definitions keep employee deductions up-to-date in-one-place, saving you from having to change individual employee records every time deductions change.
  • Establish any number of payroll and union deduction definitions.
  • If used as a Canadian construction payroll module, contactors will find the automatic deduction capabilities support an unlimited number of deductions within a pay period.
  • Deduction definitions may specify:
    • Specified withholding reductions
    • Subject to union dues calculations
    • Method of deduction calculation:
      • Fixed amount per pay period
      • Percentage of specified type of earnings
      • Combination of Fixed and Percentage

What is Job Costing ... ?

  • Job Costing is the tracking of estimated, committed and actual costs and units associated with a single, or any number of jobs the business has agreed to do for a customer or customers for a fixed or cost plus price.
  • In the AccountPro Job Costing Platinum module jobs are tracked by 12 character alpha, numeric or alphanumeric characters and a Job description of up to 45 characters and detailed breakdown of all transacions by as many job phases as the user establishes. Breakdown for each job-phase includes labour hours and or units including sub-totals by job-phase.

What is unionized payroll ... ?

AccountPro Payroll supports union payroll deductions and supports establishing as many union deductions as required each of which may pertain to a certain union with specifc details of how a deducton is to be calculated.

Some examples:

  • The deduction can be for union dues, health and education fund, or whatever deduction you establish in the payroll module
  • Assign deduction ids to specific employee which, for example, will allow different deductions for apprentices, journey persons, trades, etc.
  • Calculate deduction for straight time
  • Calculate deduction for overtime
  • Deductions can be a percentage, dollar amount or both
  • Paid by Employee or Employer or percentage split
  • Maximum deduction amount
  • Deductions can be turned On or Off globally for a pay period or by employee
